Reality television celebrity and model Brody Jenner was born on August 21, 1983 in Los Angeles, Calfornia. He is the son of decathlon winner Bruce Jenner and actress Linda Thompson, and has one brother, four half brothers and four stepbrothers.

Jenner was originally a model for Guess?, an American clothing line known primarily for its sexualized ad campaigns and black-and-white photography. He didn’t gain much prominence in this role, however.

Jenner first entered the limelight when he appeared on the reality show The Hills. A spinoff of the popular show Laguna Beach, The Hills follows the life of Lauren Conrad from Laguna Beach as she leaves her former home and heads to Los Angeles. Jenner plays the part of one of Lauren’s closer friends and has been on the show since the second season. Since the show is actually a reality show they are, presumably, actually friends in real life.

Jenner was also the subject of his own reality show of similar caliber called The Princes of Malibu. He appeared alongside his brother Brandon. The show didn’t do so well, however, and it was cancelled after only two episodes.

Jenner has also appeared on the reality series Keeping Up with the Kardashians, which also features his father, his father’s current wife (not Jenner’s mother) and Jenner’s step-siblings and half-siblings. He has since been announced as the star and host of a new reality show for MTV which, at the moment, has been named Bromance.

Jenner has been characterized in the media as somewhat of an up-and-coming womanizer, who despite his many conquests isn’t that experienced at sweet-talking women. A New York Times review of The Hills, for example, characterized Jenner as someone who can only fall back on traditional compliments for women, and when faced with a novel response that contradicts what he said can only repeat the same compliment ad nauseum. Whether this is true or not, given the nature of ‘reality’ television at times, is unknown.

Jenner has also been pinpointed as a possible product of the work of former manager and fellow reality star Spencer Pratt, who has been viewed as a mastermind of kind looking always to manipulate Jenner’s image to get him to the top. It has been suggested, for example, that Pratt suggested Jenner date fellow socialite Nicole Richie as a way to boost his own star power. Jenner has since denied these accusations, for even though the pair have broken up he’s insisted that he loved Richie.

Jenner was also briefly an item with The Hills costar Lauren Conrad. They have since broken up, but the union was apparently enough to create a rift between Jenner and Pratt, as Pratt harbors a deep dislike of Lauren. Pratt also appears regularly on The Hills. Their continuing feud is a source of storyline on The Hills.
